SHAWL – Support for Harbor Area Women’s Lives, is a four-month residential recovery program for 13 homeless, addicted women.
SHAWL provides comprehensive services and treatment in a warm and supportive atmosphere for women who are attempting to end their addiction, live a life free from violence and become self sufficient.
SHAWL’s highly structured primary program consists of intensive case management and individual counseling with wrap-around supportive services. We offer the following:
Individual counseling and case management with Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselors
Individual counseling with a LMFT who is on-site
DBT Group (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
Tips to Parenting
Healing Trauma / Domestic Violence
Early Addiction Recovery Skills
Grief and Loss
Self-Esteem / Self-Love
Meditation and Exercise
“Strides in Recovery” Relapse Prevention Exercise Group
Community Activities and Service
Outside Recreation and Fun Activities
Additionally, based on availability, we hold special workshops throughout the year that focus on hope, healing and recovery.
